Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are the lifeblood of the Free Clinic. Many dedicated Sheridan County residents volunteer their medical and non-medical expertise to help their friends and neighbors.

Volunteers during clinic:

Primary Care Provider: volunteer physicians, physician assistants, and family nurse practitioners fufill this role. A primary care provider must have a current Wyoming license.

Nursing volunteer RN's, LPN's and CNA's work with the primary care provider. All nurses must have a current Wyoming license.

Pharmacy: volunteer pharmacists and pharmacy technologists provide patient education on their medication and assistance in finding programs through pharmaceutical companies for medications not available through the clinic. All pharmacists must have a current Wyoming license.

All of the medical team is covered for malpractice under the Federal Tort Claims Act for free clinics.

Receptionist: non-medical volunteers are trained to greet patients, direct patient chart flow, and data entry.

Eligibility worker: non-medical volunteers are trained to  determine if an individual meets the income and residency requirements to receive service.

Special projects: Other community volunteers help to provide dinner to the volunteers during clinic or on special projects.
